This morning, Thursday, the city of Sabha hosted a celebration marking International Workers’ Day, observed annually on May 1st.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation of the Libyan Government in tribute to Libya’s workforce. The celebration was attended by Mr. Ibrahim Al-Zugheid, Honorable Member of the House of Representatives, the Mayor of Sabha Municipality, as well as a number of military and security leaders.
Also, in attendance were directors of relevant sectors, department heads, heads of Labor and Rehabilitation offices, as well as honored employees of the Ministry and distinguished workers from recognized companies.
Among the companies whose employees were honored were:
The Libyan Development and Reconstruction Fund
General Cleaning Services Company
Public Works Company – Sabha
The Health Insurance Fund for the Southern Region
These institutions were recognized as exemplary models of Libyan workers.
The ceremony began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by the national anthem. This was succeeded by the Workers’ Address, delivered in appreciation of their efforts, a speech from the House of Representatives by Mr. Ibrahim Al-Zugheid, a Cabinet Address delivered virtually by the Honorable Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Ali Al-Qatrani, as well as speeches by the Honorable Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation, the Mayor of Sabha, the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, the Sabha Security Directorate, and representatives from the honored companies.
All speeches emphasized the following message:
“Nations rise, progress, and flourish through the determination and efforts of their sons and daughters, especially the working class. Human resources are the cornerstone for the success of development plans and a guarantee of sustained economic power and sustainable development.”
Following the speeches, the ceremony of recognition and awards commenced.

Distinguished staff members from regional labor offices and the Ministry’s headquarters
Outstanding women from civil society organizations

Le Ministère du Travail et de la Réhabilitation du Gouvernement libyen célèbre la Journée internationale des travailleurs en présence d’une large participation ouvrière

Ce jeudi matin, la ville de Sebha a accueilli une cérémonie célébrant la Journée internationale des travailleurs, célébrée chaque année le 1er mai.
L’événement a été organisé par le Ministère du Travail et de la Réhabilitation du Gouvernement libyen en hommage aux travailleurs libyens. La cérémonie a vu la présence de M. Ibrahim Al-Zugheid, honorable membre de la Chambre des représentants, du Maire de Sebha, ainsi que de plusieurs responsables militaires et sécuritaires.
Étaient également présents des directeurs de secteurs concernés, des chefs de départements, des responsables des bureaux du travail et de la réhabilitation, ainsi que des employés honorés du ministère et des travailleurs distingués d’entreprises sélectionnées.
Les entreprises dont les employés ont été honorés comprennent :
Le Fonds libyen de développement et de reconstruction
La Société générale de nettoyage
La Société des travaux publics – Sebha
Le Fonds d’assurance santé de la région Sud
Ces institutions ont été reconnues comme des modèles exemplaires des travailleurs libyens.
La cérémonie a débuté par une récitation de versets du Saint Coran, suivie de l’hymne national. Ensuite, ont été prononcés :
Le discours des travailleurs, en leur honneur
Le discours de la Chambre des représentants, prononcé par M. Ibrahim Al-Zugheid
Le discours du Conseil des ministres, prononcé à distance par M. Ali Al-Qatrani, Vice-Premier Ministre
Le discours de Son Excellence le Ministre du Travail et de la Réhabilitation
Le discours du Maire de Sebha
Le discours des Forces armées arabes libyennes et de la Direction de la sécurité de Sebha
Et des interventions des entreprises honorées
Tous les discours ont souligné un message central :
« Les peuples et les nations s’élèvent, progressent et prospèrent grâce à la détermination et aux efforts de leurs citoyens, notamment les travailleurs. Les ressources humaines constituent le pilier essentiel de toute stratégie de développement et garantissent la pérennité de la puissance économique et du développement durable. »
Ensuite, la cérémonie de remise des distinctions a été lancée.
